A new update (24-09) of Old School Football Coach is here! The new changes include the following:

New Features

• Quality of Life Improvements:
  • In career mode there is now a setting that can be enabled to make recruiting happen automatically. When enabled, your AI assistant coaches will handle all recruiting activities for you. This setting can be freely toggled on and off in either the recruiting screen or from the Coaching Philosophy screen.
  • There is now a setting that will make player substitutions happen automatically during a game if you don't want to manually handle benching players when they get tired.
• Playing Through Injury:
  •  In career mode it is now possible for players to play through minor injuries, though at a reduced capacity. This is represented in the Injury screen, as well as some other views, as a health percentage. Players with a health percentage less than 80% will automatically be benched at the beginning of a game.
• Recruiting:
  • Schools now get a one point recruiting bonus for recruits from the same state as the school.
  • A new recruiting topic, Coach Prestige, was added.

Other Improvements

• There is now more variety in generated team mascot names when creating multiple teams in bulk from the League Management screen.
• In career mode, schools are slightly better at recruiting. Schools are now less likely to overlook local talent, are generally better about filling their targeted recruiting board with good recruits, and are smarter about which topics they talk to recruits about during recruiting calls.
• Rebalanced the skill distribution of generated recruits, reducing the number of good recruits that get generated. This change is a step towards preventing all teams from having the same general skill level after a few seasons.

Bug Fixes

• It is no longer possible to revoke the scholarship offer for a recruit that has already committed to the school. Doing so previously would sometimes cause the game to crash.
